The new ministers of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho (Republicanos), and Sports, André Fufuca (PP), take office today. The parties continue to seek other positions in the government. Yesterday, the government was forced to withdraw the constitutional urgent status of two bills that were blocking the agenda because they were not put to a vote in the House within the deadline and were preventing other bills from being voted upon. The urgent status for those bills was removed to allow for a vote on Complementary Bill (PLP) 136/23, from the Executive Office, which regulates the federal government’s R$ 27 billion payment to the states and the Federal District due to the changes made last year to the collection of the ICMS tax on fuels, electricity, communications, and transport.
