A new rift has emerged within the opposition. The Liberal Party (PL) is holding an emergency meeting this afternoon in Brasília to discuss Michelle Bolsonaro’s public criticism of the PL’s alliance with Ciro Gomes (PSDB). Hugo Motta (Republicanos–PB), President of the Lower House, stated that today’s meeting of party leaders will address the Public Security Constitutional Amendment Proposal (PEC), introduced by the government to integrate the country’s security forces. The draft will be presented on Thursday in the special committee. The Senate’s Economic Affairs Committee (CAE) resumes discussion today, December 2, of the bill regulating taxation of betting platforms and fintechs. The bill, authored by Senator Renan Calheiros (MDB–AL), is being reported by Senator Eduardo Braga (MDB–AM).
