Federal Deputy Leo Prates (Republicanos-BA), rapporteur of the proposal to end the 6-on-1-off work schedule, presented his report yesterday before the Special Committee discussing the matter. The goal is to vote on the proposal in committee on Wednesday and subsequently move it to the Lower House floor. In addition to sector-specific legislation and the Executive Branch bill on the matter, Hugo Motta signaled willingness to advance discussions on updating the revenue cap for individual microentrepreneurs (MEIs) and allowing them to hire additional employees (PLP 108/21). The government’s main challenge at this stage is to ensure that the Senate analyzes the proposal quickly and without introducing changes to the version approved by the Lower House.
