As expected, the Senate approved appointments to the boards of several regulatory agencies. These appointments had been stalled for months. Tensions between the United States and South America have escalated in recent days. U.S. government spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said on Tuesday (August 19) that President Donald Trump will use "full force" against Nicolás Maduro. Today, the Senate will complete the first round of voting on Constitutional Amendment Proposal (PEC) No. 66/23, which changes the rules for paying court-ordered debts (precatórios).
