The Senate approved the bill that reinstates the tie-breaking vote in the Administrative Council of Tax Appeals (CARF). There were 34 votes in favor and 27 against. The text will now be sent to President Lula for sanctioning. The deputies approved the extension of the payroll tax exemption for 17 sectors of the economy until 2027. The benefit would have ended in December. However, a staggered reduction in the social security contribution of municipalities was also approved. Today, the Supreme Federal Court (STF) resumes adjudication of the demarcation of indigenous lands. The justices will analyze whether indigenous peoples only have the right to lands that were traditionally occupied on the day the Constitution was enacted, October 5, 1988, known as the "time frame".
