Yesterday, October 2, as expected, the Senate approved the bill that deals with the Desenrola program and addresses the limit on interest rates charged to finance the outstanding balance of credit card bills and other post-paid payment instruments. Yesterday, the president of the House, Arthur Lira, spoke with Deputy Pedro Paulo (PSD-RJ), rapporteur of the bill that will discuss the taxation of exclusive and offshore funds. The government would like the vote on the matter to be held this week. Regarding the fiscal framework, Lula vetoed two provisions. One of them prevented the government from removing “any expenses" from the calculation of the target stipulated for public accounts.
