As expected, and with no surprises, the Senate confirmed the appointment of economist Gabriel Galípolo as president of the Central Bank from 2025 to 2028. He is expected to take office on January 1. Yesterday, Senator Eduardo Braga (MDB-AM) was officially appointed as the rapporteur for the bill that addresses the Tax on Goods and Services and the Contribution on Goods and Services (regulation of Tax Reform). He plans to present the work plan on October 16. The social network X began to come back online for users in Brazil on Tuesday night, October 8, after Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes allowed the service to resume operations.
