This week, the Senate will vote on Senator Efraim Filho's (União-PB) bill to exempt payroll taxes for 17 sectors of the economy. According to the agreement with the government, there will be a gradual resumption of the tax at a rate of 5% in 2025, 10% in 2026, 15% in 2027, and 20% in 2028. The installation of the Working Group (GT) that will discuss the regulation of the Tax Reform sent by the Executive Office to the National Congress (PLP nº 68/24) is scheduled for this week. On Thursday, the Regional Electoral Court of Rio de Janeiro (TRE-RJ) resumes judgment on the case that could lead to the impeachment of Governor Cláudio Castro (PL) for abuse of political and economic power in the 2022 elections.
