The first week of sessions in the Senate involved a lot of negotiation but little voting. Everything was postponed to next week. In other words, it is evident that the municipal elections are likely to hinder activities in both Houses, even with a reduced agenda. The Supreme Federal Court (STF) has scheduled for next Friday, August 16, the referendum on a decision by Justice Edson Fachin, which extended the deadline for the government and Congress to decide on compensation measures for payroll tax exemption until September 11. Rodrigo Pacheco mentioned that next week he will meet with Senator Leila Barros (PDT-DF) and Federal Deputy Aliel Machado (PV-PR), the rapporteurs of the carbon credit market bill in the Senate and the House, respectively.
