The Supreme Federal Court (STF) will soon rule on another important tax matter. A virtual plenary session has been scheduled between October 4 and 11 to analyze a decree from President Lula on the PIS/Cofins tax rate. Today, the national union of IBGE employees, Assibge-SN, organized a protest against what are being labeled as "authoritarian measures" by the institute's president, Marcio Pochmann. A noteworthy point from President Lula’s press conference yesterday was his statement that he has never been so optimistic about the agreement between the European Union (EU) and Mercosur.
