The Supreme Federal Court returns from recess, Bolsonaro addresses the fuel issue, and the presidential candidates continue to make moves

The Supreme Federal Court has scheduled a court session to mark the beginning of the year for the Judiciary. The year will begin with a few points of tension. Bolsonaro did not appear for his testimony at the Federal Police last week, disregarding a decision by Minister Alexandre de Moraes. Bolsonaro said that the Attorney General advised him to wait for a decision from the plenary of the Court. Another point of tension is the election. Yesterday, Bolsonaro said that the Armed Forces have found “more than a dozen inconsistencies” in the electoral process. In other news, Bolsonaro addressed the fuel issue, specifically attributing the high value of fuels to the ICMS. Governors would prefer to solve the issue with the Price Stabilization Fund, as they wouldn’t want to lose the revenue they gain from the ICMS tax. In a meeting with Lula, Senator Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL) made it clear that he will work with the national leadership of the MDB so that the party supports the PT in the election.
