According to the text of the PEC, the Auxílio Brasil would be removed from the spending ceiling for four years. The total value is around R$200 billion. By submitting the PEC, the elected government is handing Congress the responsibility of defining the text. It is very unlikely that the PEC will be approved with these terms. The Joint Budget Committee will hold a public hearing on the 2023 budget proposal with the economic team of the current government, headed by the Secretary of the Treasury and Budget, Esteves Colnago. President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva decided that the former Minister of Education, Fernando Haddad, should look over the Transition Team's working group on the economy. Currently, Haddad is being considered to take over the Ministry of Finance.
