Despite the procedural rules prohibiting edits to the PEC, Lower House President Arthur Lira said edits would be allowed during the vote in the plenary of the House. The trend is for approval. There is still no deadline for the rapporteur, Senator Angelo Coronel, to submit his report on the income tax bill. Senator Rodrigo Pacheco’s affiliation with the PSD could increase the potential for friction between him and the government. The president of the party, Gilberto Kassab, supports Pacheco's presidential candidacy. Meanwhile, the PP and PL are vying for the affiliation of President Jair Bolsonaro.
