As expected, the vote on the offshore taxation bill was postponed to next week, along with the incorporation of MP nº 1,184/23, which deals with the taxation of exclusive funds. Adjustments to the text are being negotiated. Senator Eduardo Braga (MDB-AM), rapporteur for Tax Reform, is preparing his report. A preliminary version could be released this week. The text will formally be presented to the Constitution and Justice Committee on October 24. The government also achieved an important victory by postponing to next week the vote on the bill that deals with the extension of the payroll tax exemption until 2027. The government is against the measure that grants the benefit to municipalities with up to 146,000 inhabitants.
