Due to the May 1 holiday (Labor Day) on Thursday, this will be a quiet week in both Congress and the Judiciary. Over the past two years, Lula has taken part in Labor Day events in São Paulo, but the rallies drew low turnout. As a result, his participation this year remains uncertain. Tomorrow, the President of the União Brasil (UB) party, Antonio Rueda, and the President of the Progressista Party (PP), Senator Ciro Nogueira (PI), will officially formalize the federation between their two parties, which will be called União Progressista (UP). Another major development expected tomorrow is the potential formalization of a merger between the PSDB and Podemos. A meeting is scheduled for tomorrow. One of the PSDB’s most prominent figures, Rio Grande do Sul Governor Eduardo Leite, is leaving the party.
