It was 4:00 am of Friday the 20th, and the House of Representatives was still in session debating the new tax reform, known as the “Ley de Crecimiento”. On Monday, few people believed the reform could be approved by the end of the week. Even more, “extra sessions” were added until the 23rd to get the law in place before the dreaded December the 31st deadline. However, after nearly five hours of debate, the lower chamber finally gave the thumbs up to the new tax reform, which will come into effect as of January the 1st 2020...
