The deadline for holding party conventions to choose candidates and form coalitions for the October elections ends today (August 5). According to electoral legislation, the registration deadline is August 15. Due to the municipal elections, Congress will operate at a slower pace. The Senate will hold a concentrated voting effort this week and next week. Employees of the Comptroller General’s Office (CGU) and the National Treasury Secretariat (STN) will go on strike on Tuesday, August 6, due to the lack of progress in negotiations with the Ministry of Management for career restructuring and salary increases.
