Today is the last day of the electoral campaign period on TV and radio. It is also the final day for debates between candidates running for various mayoral positions across the country. The first round of the election takes place on Sunday, October 6. Yesterday, Finance Minister Fernando Haddad met with Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Cristiano Zanin to discuss a case in the Court about the taxation of profits earned abroad. The case is scheduled for the virtual plenary session that opens this Friday, October 4. Yesterday, the president of the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban), Isaac Sidney, met with Haddad to discuss the issue of online betting. He stated that the banking sector supports the temporary suspension of instant payment methods such as PIX for online gambling payments.
