UK Foreign Minister in Moscow makes no progress

On February 10 Liz Truss met her Russian counterpart in Moscow. They both openly acknowledged that relations are strained. Truss said that Russia must desist from Cold War rhetoric and massing troops near Ukraine. Lavrov accused NATO of aggression and russophobic hysteria. Truss embarrassed herself by saying the UK would never recognize Voronezh as Russian despite its being hundreds of kilometers inside Russia. She later corrected herself.Ukraine applauded Truss's stance. Meanwhile the UK Prime Minister is in Poland to reassure allies. He said that if Russia invades Ukraine there will be a lot of bloodshed.Lithuania has asked for a permanent US military presence.
