Ukraine accuses Russia of moving troops to the border

On November 2 satellite images were published showing Russian forces massing near the Ukrainian Border. Moscow vehemently denied this. There has been an escalation in fighting between the Ukrainian Army and pro-Moscow rebels. The Ukrainian Defense Minister resigned on November 2 on health grounds but many say he was held to be failing at his job. The Pentagon said it has its eye on the situation on the Russia-Ukraine Border. Kyiv said that there is no buildup of Russian forces.President Zelensky was in the UK for the COP26 climate conference. He discussed the situation with Biden who reaffirmed US support.Putin's spokesman said that Russia has never threatened anyone. Ukraine used a Turkish-built drone to destroy rebel artillery on November 1. The Russian Foreign Minister said that Kyiv was striving to provoke Russia to intervene in the conflict. Ukraine considers that risible as Russian troops and not just Russian volunteers have been fighting in eastern Ukraine since 2014. Ukraine regards the Russian entry into Crimea as an invasion.
