Ukraine claims to be advancing in Bakhmut

On May 15 Ukraine said it had taken 10 Russian positions and had taken prisoners of war. Ukraine claims not to have commenced its spring counter-offensive yet. But Ukrainian artillery barrages have undoubtedly been heavier than usual. On May 10 Russia claimed to hold 805 of the city. On May 15 the head of Wagner Group stated that the Ukrainians had taken back some land. The Russian Army announced that 2 colonels were killed in action. The UK Ministry of Defense said on May 15 that the Russians in Bakhmut are in no fit state to defend their lines. Ukraine says it was not responsible for 4 Russian aircraft crashing inside Russia on May 14. Ukraine never claims attacks inside Russia but usually does not deny them either.
