Ukraine evacuates its citizens from Israel and strongly backs Israel

On October 15 a plane took 207 Ukrainians to Kyiv. Ukraine has unequivocally supported Israel and any military action that Israel feels compelled to take in Gaza. Putin has still not phoned the Israeli Prime Minister since the October 8 attacks nor has he expressed his condolences. Moscow has castigated the United States for failing to achieve a settlement between Palestine and Israel. It is poor US diplomacy that it is the root cause of the violence—says Moscow. Russia stated that 16 of its citizens were confirmed killed by Hamas in the October 8 attacks. At least one Russian is a hostage of Hamas, and Russia is trying to secure the person's release. Some Russian citizens are in Gaza voluntarily. Russia is trying to secure their evacuation. Neutrality on the Arab-Israeli Conflict has been Russia's position since 1991. But Israel is irate and views neutrality as being pro-Hamas. On October 13 Putin told Israel publicly that a ground invasion of Gaza is unacceptable. The liberal-left in Israel has advocated for Ukraine. They may well come to office in 2024 if Netanyahu's right wing coalition is blamed for failing to prevent the October 2023 Hamas attacks.
