Ukraine's backers told to speed up arms deliveries

On February 18 the representatives of dozen countries met in Munich, Germany for a security conference. NATO and EU countries were represented but so was China. The NATO chief said that if Russia wins the consequences will be cataclysmic. Jens Stoltenberg said that a Russian victory would embolden China. He urged NATO countries to increase and bring forward arms deliveries. Prominent NATO countries' experts have said that arms production in NATO is far too slow and claimed that Russia has hugely increased its production. However, Russian munitions tend to be far less accurate and they therefore have to fire several times more than is necessary with NATO munitions to achieve the same result. The President of the European Commission also said that military support needs to be upgraded. Zelensky spoke by videolink and urged Ukraine's friends to increase military aid. There is no sign that NATO countries will give jets to Ukraine that Ukraine is pleading for. On February 19 the US said that China might be about to supply lethal aid to Russia for the first time in this war.
