Ukraine says it is ready for its counter offensive

On June 3 the Ukrainian President made the statement. He said that it would not be quick and there could be significant casualties. He said Ukraine did not have all the arms it wanted but it cannot delay any further. He has asked for armored vehicles in particular. He also wants more Patriot missile defense systems. Ukraine is worried that it cannot protect both its cities and its frontline troops. Ukrainian civilians have been encouraged to donate blood ahead of the counter offensive. It is suspected that Russia's aerial campaign against cities was intended intended to delay the counter offensive. Ukraine says that Russia is playing its last card with these strikes, and Ukrainian air defense is 90% successful. Ukraine is worried that many air raid shelters are unusable. It seems that Putin is trying to take out Ukrainian command centers. Russia is not reacting much to talk of the counter offensive. The Kremlin's attitude is business as usual. On June 3 Putin attended the St Petersburg International Economic Forum. Very few foreign guests attended.
