Ukraine to receive 12 million doses of the vaccine

On February 5 President Zelensky announced that his country will be given millions more doses of AstraZeneca and Novavax. The vaccines are being purchased from India mostly. The first consignment will arrive in late February 2021.The government has been castigated for not obtaining Western vaccines. The EU is struggling to provide vaccines to its member states. Ukraine is not as important to the EU as its own member states.Ukraine shall receive 8 million doses from the UN and up to 5 million from China. Kyiv refused to licence Sputnik V.Ukraine has suffered 1.2 million cases of coronavirus and 24,000 deaths.
