Ukraine to receive more arms

On May 10 the US said it will give Ukraine another USD 400 million worth of military aid in addition to the USD 60 billion package passed in April 2024. Zelensky stated that Ukraine faces a very hard fight in the east. Russia regularly brags of taking villages however, it is clear that Russia is only advancing a few hundred meters a day. On May 9 Germany said that it will pay for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) for Ukraine. Germany was buying them from the US. The US and and Ukraine have said that with these additional weapons Ukraine will stop the Russian offensive. No one is talking about a Ukrainian counter-offensive in 2024. Ukraine is due to receive fighter jets from Denmark and the Netherlands in the summer of 2024 after a year of its pilots training on them.
