Ukrainians kill collaborators

On April 25 a police officer in Melitopol was killed by a bomb and one other police officer was injured. The Ukrainian Mayor of the city fled to Ukrainian controlled territory in 2022. He commented that the dead man was a Ukrainian police officer who had gone over to the side the invaders. Russia was claimed Melitopol as its own in 2022. It is now 65 km behind the frontline. Russia has established administrations in areas it controls. Some local officials and police have agree to work for Russia. Ukraine has a policy of targeting such people. Mariupol is another Ukraine city seized by Russia. It is the city that was destroyed more than any other besides Bakhmut in this war. Russia has been rebuilding Mariupol, and St Petersburg in particular has funded this. However, budgets are small and there have been many rushed jobs and a lot of jerry building. Russia is desperate to return to a semblance of normality in the occupied territories.
