The US said its satellite did not see any missiles fired at the plane. There is speculation there was a bomb on board. An investigation has been launched. Prigozhin led a mutiny in June 2023. There was then a peace agreement between him and the Russian government. Wagner remains active in Africa. It is rumored that other Russian quasi military figures are developing PMCs in Africa.
