Executive Summary According to press reports, Ankara and Kurdish rights party HDP are on the verge of announcing a major deal in the ethnic peace talks. From what we read, the deal may still be vetoed by PKK, or scuppered by the passage of the Internal Security Reform Bill. The contents leaked to the press so far would somewhat please the Kurds, but Turks could react negatively. Contrary to our reporting last week, Spy Chief Mr. Hakan Fidan resigned to run for the parliament without Erdogan’s blessing. Did he smell the potential winner in a future showdown with Davutoglu?
