On March 5 Putin said that if Ukraine continues to resist he might end its independence and that would be all Ukraine's fault. Until now Putin's goals were regime change and the annihilation of the Ukrainian Military. Reintegrating Ukraine had not been an objective. This objective is seen by pundits to be unachievable. Visa and Mastercard are suspending services in Russia. 1.4 million Ukrainians have fled. Poland has taken the most refugees. Kyiv is pleading with NATO countries for more armaments. Zelensky has asked for a no-fly zone over Ukraine. NATO has resolutely refused because that would lead to the Third World War. Putin has said that is true.There are rumors that Russia will introduce martial law. Moscow has said that is not so.Intel, Airbnb, LVMH, Hermes and Chanel are also ending business with Russia. On March 8 Aeroflot will suspend all flights.On March 6 Zelensky spoke to Biden. Zelensky is in daily contact with EU leaders. He addressed the EU Parliament on March 3 and was given a standing ovation. He asked for them to ban all Russian oil and gas imports. Zelensky claims that if Putin is not stopped he will invade other former Soviet satellites. The US Congress voted USD 10 billion in aid. Biden said he will not ban Russian oil. The US is suffering from the worst inflation since the 1970s and cannot risk aggravating that.NATO countries are furnishing Ukraine with weapons. The US authorized a military aid package of USD 350 million on March 4, which is the largest such package ever. On March 5 Israel's Prime Minister visited Moscow.
