Zelensky and Constitutional Court row over anti-corruption

On October 30 President Zelensky crossed swords with the Constitutional Court when it nullified anti-corruption laws and limited the authority of the National Anti-Corruption Agency (NAZK). Zelensky asked the Rada to annul the court's judgment.The court said that the penalty for making false statement is unduly severe. Zelensky said that the ruling will risk foreign aid being reduced.Zelensky has been accused of flirting with unconstitutionality. He said he wants to appoint new judges.Ukraine has not been making much headway on introducing the reforms demanded by the IMF. If Ukraine was warned by the EU that if it does not improve its behaviour then it might not get future loans.Four judges on the constitutional are under investigation by the NAZK for not reporting their assets. These four justices still heard the NAZK case despite this flagrant conflict of interests.
