Zuma's era ends in 24 hours!

At last, Zuma's missteps, tactics and strategies check-mated him. He has been put in a no-win binnary position:"resign before mid-night, or tomorrow at 14h00 the Parliament will remove you via a vote of no confidence supported by the combined ANC, EFF and all other opposition parties." To reach this decision, the ANC had to swalllow much of its traditional pride of never supporting the opposition parties when they attack one of its deployees! Furthermore, whatever choice Zuma makes over the coming hours, by tomorrow and latest by Friday February 16th Cyril Ramaphosa will be South Africa's new president. Whether it will be tommorrow or Friday will be determined by the avialiablity of the Chief Justice for the swearing-in ceremony of Ramaphosa. Finally, the ANC has put a big line in the sand and left Zuma with zero space to manuver. In a hastily televised interview earlier this afternoon, Zuma tried to defend his position, appeal to the traditions of the ANC, and consistently denied any wrongdoing whatsoever. He was also stoking his sliver of remaining support base still lingering within the party. He promised to issue a full statement later today. Astonishingly, Zuma repeatedly denied during his live interview that he has done anything wrong. And, daringly, he asked the new leadership of the ANC to tell him and the nation what he has done wrong! His denialist stance, at this late hour, was insulting to the nation's intelligence, infuriating an already frustrated population who cannot wait to see him go.
